Indigenous Wellness Research Institute

Area of Focus

The values of IWRI materialize through three spheres of academic and community work: research, training and Indigenous research capacity building, and knowledge sharing. The first sphere of research is substantiated by four centers: policy development, health research, theory building, and Indigenous child welfare and community wellness. Second, training and capacity building includes research, training, K-12 educational opportunities, and curriculum development with Indigenous communities. And, last, knowledge sharing encompasses tribal and community advisory boards, multi-media development, and a center for the translation, implementation, and dissemination of research.
